Photograph of Bob Rakke

Bob Rakké Born 1949.During WWII, my father served in the Netherlands Navy. In 1944, he met my mother (a Swansea girl), who served with the WRENS at Mill Meece Camp, Staffordshire. After the war, they went to live in Holland, where I was born. Since 1996, I have lived in central Belgium (Ternat). At present I work for a Non Government Organisation (NGO) in the North-South movement and locally I volunteer in the cultural sector. Research for Flanders Open Monuments Day (a local commonwealth war grave) got me in touch with the project. I intend to cover central Belgium.
