Charente Maritime & Charente. Now living in St Androny, on the Gironde Estuary just north of Blaye, we moved here from Holmfirth in June 2002 having sold our house and stored it's contents. Our house is surrounded by vines and part of it is used as a holiday gite. I served for 2 years in the RNR in Birmingham and later for 9 years in the Home Service Force based in Huddersfield, initially the 3rd Btn The Yorkshire Volunteers which later changed to 3rd Btn The Duke of Wellington's Regiment. I am the high side of 60 and as well as doing a lot of DIY work on the house I am also a semi professional photographer with a special interest in landscapes. Elaine is particularly interested in Bird Watching and we both like to visit areas of interest in the area so we can advise our holiday guests of the best places to go. Duncan's Mum and our 'Lot Trufflehound' Wellesley live here with us and we all enjoy the milder weather and the local food and wine.
