Barrow upon Soar. I am a member of the Western Front Association in Nottingham. Born in Gary, Indiana, raised in Southern California, I was stationed at R.A.F. Bruntingthorpe in Leicestershire from 1958-61 with the U. S. Air Force. I am currently researching a book on the 90 men from Barrow-upon-Soar who died in the two world wars of the 20th Century. There's nothing stronger or more honourable than the heart of a volunteer. When England called her men and women to the colours, they joined up in the thousands. They represented the best of the nation's men and women. The impact of their deaths upon the nation, and upon those who loved them, is lasting and profound. In this work we hope to keep alive the memory of those who otherwise would have remained just names, forgotten as they faded into history. Ralph is also a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
The project relies solely on volunteer help. If you believe you can help in any way (photographing, admin, sponsorship, etc) then please contact us. If you would like to help with the photography please download the Guidance and Volunteer policy PDF via link on the volunteers page.
