Details: Died of wounds received on the Somme 13th November 1916. Age 27. Son of Robert and Jane Monteith (nee Rankin) of 55 Manor Place Edinburgh. Native of Glasgow. Enlisted in the Sportsman's Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers in Sept. 1914 and gazetted on 15th May 1915. I. B. 67.
