Details: 21/09/1944 aged 23 interred Bari War Cemetery. James was the only son of Adolph & Mary Kahle of 12 Albany Avenue, Harrogate. He went to St. Roberts School and gained a scholarship to the Technical Institute. He worked for the Harrogate Corporation in the Education Department, before joining the RAF in 1941. He trained as a navigator in South Africa, before joining 14 Squadron, which was flying B26 Marauders from a base in Italy, on anti-submarine duties. James was killed, aged 23, on the very last mission which the squadron flew, before being transferred back to duties in England.
