25/03/44 Age 25 14. B. 3. Son of Dorothy Francis (Formerly Ryley) and the late Alexander Melinsky, Stepson of Frederick George Francis, of Swanage, Dorsetshire.

'Lt Michael Vivian Ryley - was born Vivian Melinsky RAC - served as Ryley – he was of Jewish faith and has an AJEX Jewish chaplain card and United Synagogue Records shows killed in Burma 25/3/44 – Plaque to Michael is on grave of Alexander Melinsky (father, died 1925) at Willesden Jewish cemetery MX 21 11, placed by family after Michael was killed. CWGC will only add Melinsky name to web site page as he enlisted as Ryley. CROSS requested by mother on grave at Takuyaan, Burma'.
