Details: 16/02/44 Age 32 3. C. 13. Son of Frank and Ada Oram; husband of Alice Maud Oram, of Edington, Wiltshire. HE Oram was killed in action 16/17 Feb 1944 attacking Point 315 - Battle of Sinzweya (Ngakyedauk Pass) Arakan Burma. The attack plan was to clear the Japanese off of the high point from which they were shelling the Sinzweya resupply area (the admin box). The CO Major C Hoey was awarded a posthumous VC in the same action.
