D F C 01/11/40 Aged 25 Panel 4. Son of Henry S. and Sarafina Nelson; husband of Marjorie Isobel Nelson.

His real name was Katznelson and Canadian Jewish killed in the Battle of Britain – remembered on Runnymede memorial – however, his AIR 81 file at TNA has a hand note that he may have been hiding his Jewish faith as a POW – so RAF knew he was Jewish. In fact he had been killed when shot down. See Jewish military Museum file on Nelson which contains further proof he was Jewish and also the confession of this by his wife to his son Bill Mcallister before she died; RAF Air Historical Branch have accepted the amendment to his record showing he was Jewish in 2020. Son Bill Mcallister lives in London.
