Son of the late Laurence and Johanna Mathewson of Otago; husband of Effie Mary Forster Mathewson (nee Morgan) of 60 Grosvenor St. Kensington Dunedin. Left New Zealand in 1914 as a member of the Veterinary Corps. Also served in Egypt. N.Z. Apse Panel 3.
