Details: Killed in action near Ypres 16th August 1917. Age 23. Mentioned for gallantry and devotion to duty by the Divisional Commander June 1917. Only son of Mr. H. H. Callear of 10 Ardee St. Dublin. Educated at Elstow School Bedford at which he was a member of the O.T.C. and also a member of the Trinity College Dublin O.T.C. Gazetted to Commission Sept. 1914. Twice previously wounded. Panel 144 to 145.
