Details: 27th March 1918. Age 20. Son of William and Emma C. Franklin of 32 St. Luke's Rd. Beeston Hill Leeds. Bay 4. PLEASE NOTE: THE NAMES ON THIS MEMORIAL ARE NOT WELL DEFINED. Norman Franklin, Soldier, killed In the first world war I was told My mother's elder brother she was 11 years old. I know that she loved him she had often told me so, I never met my uncle It was such a long time ago Somewhere in France, He served his country well gave his life for freedom, that we enjoy so well. He never knew his nephew called Norman by his dad, was an Atomic physicist that would have made him glad. But Norman, only twenty, gave his life so we'd be free I hate the war that took you so far away from me.
