30th August 1943. Column 268. His remains were found by his parents in 1950 in Greece and returned home to Israel. He is now buried in HADERA OLD CEMETERY near Haifa, Israel

Note: The CWGC do not recognise the fact that a body was found and returned to Israel as there was no proof that is was that of Amichai. To that end his name will remain on Alamein Memorial
