Details: 12/06/17 24 4. D. 7.Son of the Very Rev. Sir George Adam Smith (Principal of the University of Aberdeen) and of Lady Smith, J.P., of Chanonry Lodge, Old Aberdeen, Scotland. Educated at Glasgow Academy and Sandhurst. Proceeded to India in 1913 and served one year with 4th Bn. The Rifle Brigade. Joined 33rd Punjabis in 1914. Also served in Egypt and at Aden, Feb., 1916 to April, 1917.
